Identify revenue opportunity from coupon errors

A major retailer used Quantum Metric to grow conversions by 40% in a previously untapped segment, resulting in $2M revenue growth over just two months. 

 

With Quantum Metric, the retailer’s analytics team found that 10-20% of customers attempted to use expired coupon codes at checkout, then abandoned their carts when the codes proved invalid. Since this segment was largely buying older inventory with higher basket sizes, the retailer recognized an opportunity to retain these customers by re-enabling older codes. We saw this as an opportunity to reduce holdings of older inventory whilst increasing satisfaction, all by simply re-activating the coupon codes in our systems,” said the company’s Manager of Digital Strategy Analytics.
